Opening day has come and passed, and we have seen every teams play their first game. We noticed some history, we saw some injury, and we finally got to see some prospects. We also saw a ton of players around the MLB who took a knee in support of the BLM movement and the fight against systemic racism. Sidebar, the best thing I heard the last couple days was the sound of an HR in an empty park. Man, it's pretty. The first pitch of the season, as we know, was thrown by Dr. Anthony Fauci. That went a bit sideways; you could say as it was way off the plate. But the rest of that game was exciting. The game was delayed by rain and then continues. We then saw the first HR by a DH in a game where there was a universal DH; Giancarlo Stanton did this. The Nationals were without Juan Soto for the series after a positive COVID test. The Yankees ended up winning this game. The battle on the mound was great; Cole had 1ER and 5K, Scherzer had 4ER and 11K. Stanton is my MVP in this one with 3

Happy Opening day blog! I cannot believe we are here. I can't believe I am saying that now at post 85, the whole experience up to this point has been remarkable. This post will be my last post before we get actual games! I am so excited, and I don't even care who wins tonight as long as we see some dingers. NL East: 1- Philadelphia Phillies- 43-17 2- Atlanta Braves 40-20 3- Washington Nationals 38-22 4- NY Mets 36-24 5- Miami Marlins 23-37 I had to do some soul searching for this division since I wrote my original predictions. The Phillies moved up for me cause they haven't lost any significant pieces to injury or COVID. The Phillies are healthy and experience and have enough depth to send their top pitching prospect down. I am in on the Bryce Harper and the Phillies. I sadly had to move the Braves down to a more realistic spot in my rankings. They have had the worst luck of any team with COVID hurting them. Today's post is going to be super simple for each division and why I think these teams will finish as they do. AL East: 1- NY Yankees- 45-15 2- TB Rays 41-29 3- Toronto Blue Jays- 33-27 3- Boston RedSox- 33-27 5- Baltimore Orioles- 22-38 The Yankees are locked and LOADED. Health is the most significant contingency factor for the Bronx Bombers. In a 60 game season with the depth pieces in the OF in Clint Frazier and Aaron Hicks and with P Paxton and Tanaka healthy. The Yankees are one tough team to beat even without Judge and Stanton off the field. The Ray's strength is their pitching along with great depth around the diamond. With Meadows being out to start the season hurts, I still believe they can win games on pitching along. The Blue Jays are all upside in my eyes. With Biggio, Bichetta, Guerro Jr all pushing for top 10 best at their positions, with better pitching and Pearson taking steps toward being number 2 to Ryu. Facebook.com/ballboyblog THE BIGGEST NEWS of the last couple days is The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed OF Mookie Betts to a 13 year contract worth 365 million which would pay him 30.41Mil annually. The contracts includes the 2020 season so its for the next 12 seasons. Betts will be in Dodgers blue until 2032 and until he is age 39. I think personally this is kind of shady for Betts to do. He was offered 10 years for 330 million from the Boston RedSox, which would have given him 33 million a year. Now he is going to make just under 30 mil a year. The contract with LA has him loosing 40 million! Overall, its a great move for the Dodgers as they now open up a little bit more room going forward and room to continue the dynasty. Yes, I do play fantasy baseball I have since I was 12 years old. I am a 2x champ since that time. One of those years was when Alex Rodriguez came back after suspension and had a solid year. The first thing I want to talk about is how well the MLB is doing with its testing and keeping players safe. Today July 17th, out of 17949 tests, there have only been 23 positive tests! The MLB shows all other sports that it can be done and can keep players and personnel safe. In some more COVID-19 news Yasiel Puig who just signed with the Braves tested positive for COVID-19 and is NOT going to sign with the team and will sit out until he has two tests back to back with negative results. In today's post, we are going to dig into the AL West and where each team is going to fall this season. Let's jump in, as usual; we are going to go bottom to top so 5-1 5. Starting at the bottom of the division. This team pains me to put here, but hey, it is what it is. The Seattle Mariners fall to 5th place in the AL West. Mind you; they are playing against the NL West as well this season for 20 games and the already tough AL West for 40 games. The other teams are just a lot better. The M's have far too many question marks surrounding them. Who is going to play, and where and how well are they going to do? That is the main one. With arrivals of Evan White at 1B jumping from AA, Shed Long looking to prove himself at 2B. The OF has a bright future on the Taxi Squad. While Kyle Lewis and Braden Bishop look to earn their keep as well as Jake Fraley. The rotation is also a huge question after Marco Gonzalez, Yusei Kikuchi, Kendall Gravemen. How are you guys doing today? We are going to get into one of the tougher divisions and probably my favorite one on paper. Between the NL/AL West, we are going to see some of the best baseballs. These are two of the more competitive divisions. With this division again today, we have a close race that will be decided in the last series. As per usual we are going to go 5 to 1 Before we get into it today, lets shoutout. 5. The SF Giants are full-on rebuild mode or at least getting close. Getting rid of franchise cornerstone in Mad-Bum, having Posey possibly sitting out. Hoping for a rebound from Jeff Samardzija, Johnny Cueto, Drew Smyly, Kevin Gausman, Hunter Pence, Tony Watson, among others. This team has a way to many question marks. If all the above players play to career normals, then this team is better than expected. Let's jump in The Minnesota Twins have four players who tested positive, including star Miguel Sano. The Twins getting this news hurts them as they are a lock for me in the AL Central almost. Even without Sano, this team is still outstanding. Look for Marwin Gonzalez, Jake Cave, and maybe even Nelson Cruz to get the reps at 1B for the Twins if Sano isn't 100% by the start of the season. Good news for the Twins new arrival Josh Donaldson isn't sitting out. The face of the Franchise and Star C Salvador Perez of the KC Royals tested positive as well. This news hurts the Royals, who I have projected to be at the bottom of the division. This news doesn't help them at all to be more competitive.
