AL Central Update: Detroit Tigers
Overall:
This team has so much promising talent that's nearing readiness: Pitchers- Matt Manning, Casey Mize, Beau Burrows, Alex Faedo, Bryan Garcia, Anthony Castro, Rony Garcia, Position players: Isaac Paredes, Willi Castro, Sergio Alcantara, Daz Cameron, Jake Rogers. Like there is a wealth of pitching talent and other talents on this team. The future is bright for this team as it looks to have the next best pitching staff in the MLB, give it a few years and then be really happy you got through the Miguel Cabrera era.
Hitting:
Miguel Cabrera, oh man what is there to say about this guy. Honestly, he is going to go down as an all-time great hitter. But I mean he is 36yo and ya know still has 132MIL owed through 2023. Which is 3 more years. His best years are more than likely behind him, the twilight of his career is in full swing. Let's hope to see maybe some old manpower come in the next few years and as he serves as DH for the rebuilding Tigers, who won't be in contention any time soon. He will keep getting chances to play ball until his contract runs out.
CJ Cron is coming off an average season to his career numbers, he did have a dropoff in a few Statcast categories, but if we can see a decent rebound expect him to be moved as he is going to rebuild value here this season.
Now a young guy who is coming up for Tigers Jeimer Candelario is looking to rebound off a weak season, which was so weak he ended up back in AAA to figure things out. He has a lot of things to figure out as he ranked in the bottom half of Statcast metrics across the board. If he wants the 3B job, he has a lot of work to do, to say the least.
Jake Rogers was optioned to AAA, but don't be surprised to see him again as he is viewed as the catcher of the future for the Tigers. For now, we will see Austin Romine and Grayson Greiner hold it down for the time being.

When we see the 2020 season, we will see Joe Jimenez as the Tigers CP. He is young at 25yo I honestly don't see him getting a lot of saves for this team as I think they are going to lose ALOT of games. I mean if he shows well, who knows maybe he ends up on a contender.
The Tigers do have a couple of fireballers who were looking to really be difference-makers for the team. Jose Cisnero who can hit high 90's like 97MPH and Gregory Soto who can really light it up at 100MPH
Sad to see Joey Wentz going down to TJ surgery for the surgery. He was looking promising last season but now we just have to wait and see what the future holds for the 22yo.
