NL West Update- AZ D-Backs

Overall
We could also be seeing some of the guys acquired in the Paul Goldschmidt and Zack Grienke trade be coming to make an impact for Dbacks- The likes of IF Andy Young, P J.B. Bukauskas, 1B Seth Beer C Carson Kelly. Also, C Daulton Varsho is in like for a platoon with Kelly should something happen to Vogt or Kelly.
Two guys I am honestly surprised got optioned are Taylor Clarke and IF Kevin Cron- with Cron being more surprising than Clarke.
Overall the Dbacks are in a really good spot right now with their talent. They have enough in my opinion over a 162 game season to be the favorite for the NL wildcard spot because unless half of all the Dodgers got hurt. Then they would win the NL West. But that's probably not happening. But don't be surprised for the Dbacks to be making some noise.

Hitting
This is a weird trend I am seeing in the west is signing guys that are over 30 after the 2018 season deals of 2 years 22MIL they gave him in January. Like I am starting to see a weird trend in these rebound candidates, David Peralta is who I am talking about, I am worried this a trend we are seeing in baseball. The 32yo had a barely above-average season at the place. hit 20 less HR in 2019 than 2018 and overall did not look like he deserved 11mil a year for his age 33/34 seasons. Let's hope the Dbacks are right on this one.
The Dbacks have quite a few guys already going to be playing under contact extensions: Ketel Marte, Nick Ahmed, Eduardo Escobar, and David Peralta. They do have a couple older fellas in Robbie Ray and Starling Marte who are over 31 and could be had on short term deals of a year or two for HOPEFULLY less than 7mil a year.

Pitching
Taking a step back after injuries and being optioned to AAA the 25yo Jon Duplantier will need to regain health and maintain it remains on his path and spot on the consensus top 100. The Dbacks have several other young guys if the need arrives for the backs to go into their system. Duplantier will be a top option.
Look for like likes of Archie Bradley to get a lot of work in the Closer role and if he performs well I think he could get a new contract. Carson Kelly and Luke Weaver are a couple younger options with great upside who could be in line for extensions.
