NL Central Update: Pittsburgh Pirates

Overall
Overall, this is another rebuilding team that I am surprised optioned its two best prospects in Hayes and Tucker. But look for them to lock up some young talent and contend in a few years. I really hope Archer can be the ace of that will go down as one of the worst trades the Pirates ever did as the talent they gave up in Glasnow and Meadows are turning out to be pretty good MLB players with solid careers on the horizon. I also would love to see Bell continue to just rake and be a force no one wants to pitch too and I hope they lock him up in his prime. I can see his NL Central becoming very, very competitive in the next few years.

Hitting
The Buc's have engaged in extension talks with OF Bryan Reynolds, IF Kevin Newman, Ke'Bryan Hayes. Obviously, JOSH BELL needs a new deal after signing a 4.8Mil arbitration salary, he is going to cost a pretty penny, but there has yet to be a deal made with any of these players.
Gregory Polanco, coming off shoulder surgery that limited him to 42 games last season he only had a 242BA. Let's hope for a strong rebound from Polanco.
Surprisingly, the Bucs optioned Ke'Bryan Hayes and Cole Tucker to AAA both were playing well in Spring ball. Expect both of them to factor into the 2020 season mix as depth pieces or bench pieces and get into the everyday lineup by showing they are the best option and deserve it.

Pitching
The Bucs, have engaged in extension talks with Joe Musgrove, this would be a solid contract for the Pirates.
The Buc's have two guys who need a rebound from Chris Archer and Derek Holland, Archer, for instance, has been well less than what he was traded for. On MLB trade rumors there's a great post by Steve Adams check it out here that goes into some advanced metrics around the Archer trade. : https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/03/rebound-candidate-chris-archer.html But as it looks right at this very moment the Bucs would like to have Tyler Glasnow, and Austin Meadows back.
Derek Holland looks to get back on track as a swingman. Who was better as an SP but could factor as a decently productive swingman for Bucs and look to help the tail end of his career end up on a winning team.
The Bucs did option: Geoff Hartlieb, Sam Howard, Edgar Santana, and Yacksel Rios.
Good news on Jameson Taillon is his rehab from TJ is going well as he is progressing in his rehab and looks to be on track for the August return. So with the state of how the season looks. We may see him after all this year.
