In My Opinion: Best in the NL East

Note: This is 100% opinion based on who I see as the best players in the NL East and who I can see having a legit shot at the HOF.
The kind of explain how I get these categories for Honorable Mentions I feel like they aren't the most exciting player, but one who should be paid attention to at this point in their career where they are now and where I think they are going
Most Exciting players are the guys you have to watch that are just electric and going to be around for a while and making noise.
HOF candidates are guys who I can see when their careers are over are likely to be considered for the HOF

Honorable Mentions Hitters
Brian Anderson- OF Marlines- This guy is freaking talented and is only 26 but is on the Marlins and the versatile Anderson who can play 3B and the OF and hit for some power and a decent average. He has a bunch of MiLB awards to show so far as well. He has his best years ahead of him and has possibly 7-10 more years in his MLB career. I see an outstanding career coming for Anderson.
Yoenis Cespedes- OF Mets- While the injuries have not been kind to Cespedes since 2016 when he started to deal with nagging injuries. Which has been terrible for him since because before he was smashing HR and was looking to be an all-time great? Now he is 34 and seems just to be needing to establish himself as an average player and stay healthy to end his career.
Trea Turner- SS Nationals= at 26 Turner has a long career ahead of him. But posting a career 291ERA and a 348OBP and a 159SB. We saw Turner last season almost crack 20HR/20SB, and I think that he has plenty of 20/20 seasons to come and an outstanding career ahead of him.

Most Exciting Hitters
Ronals Acuna Jr- RF Braves- What can I say about Acuna. Dude is a secure lock for the next five years to flirt with 40HR/40SB season if not a 50/50 throw it somewhere. He hits for an average as well and gets on base. No wonder he got a big contract already, and he is only 22!  Expect Acuna to be an All-Star AND MVP candidate for the next 10-15years and to go down as one of the all-time greats.
Pete Alonso- 1B Mets-Last season, we saw Alonso burst onto the MLB level and hit a rookie record 53HR. Man, does this guy have some elite power? At 25 and being able to mash like its no one business. Pete has me super excited for the career he is starting. It is going to be a good one. Stay tuned!
Juan Soto- OF Nationals at 21YO he is going into his 3rd MLB season. Already having an excellent career through these first two years. Already a WS champion. With a big impact in that series. There are so many good things to say about Soto. The kid has power, speed, a good arm, gets on base, hits for a good average. Just overall Soto is going to be around for a long time and showing just how great he is for many many years to come.

HOF Hitters
Freddie Freeman-1B Braves- Freeman is only 30 but feels like he has been around forever. He already has ten years of MLB service to his name and an excellent and consistent career. Freeman doesn't overwhelm you with career HR/RBI numbers with 227/805 but has a 293BA and 379OBP. The man gets on base a lot. He also plays almost the whole season unless he is hurt. Only two seasons of less than 147GP. To go along with the consistency, he is a 4x All-Star, 1x Silver Slugger, 1x Gold Glove, 2x Defensive Player
Robinson Cano- 2B Mets Well Canos first year back in NY as a Met didn't go as planned. But that is okay career-wise those. Were talking about one of the best 2B ever to play the game. to date 2570H, 324HR, 1272RBI, 302BA, 353OBP. Let's throw in some accolades 1WS champ, 8x All-Star, 5x Silver Slugger, 2x Gold Glove, and All-Star MVP and a World Baseball Classic MVP as well. Overall, Cano has had a great career in the last few seasons, not so much. But big picture whole career has been one for the HOF.
Andrew McCutchen- OF Phillies
Bryce Harper- OF Phillies

Honorable Mentions Pitchers
Jordan Yamamoto- P Marlins- We saw this kid come out for 78.2IP and get 82SO. He did pitch to a 4.46RRA. But the sample size and that he is on the Marlins who lack offense The young now 23yo pitcher will have a promising career on the horizon for Marlins.
Edwin Diaz- P Mets- Diaz is only 26 and already has 135 saves, 249IP, 400So, and a 3.33ERA. We have seen one lousy season from season compared to 3 good ones. Diaz will rebound and continue his dominance to be one of the best. He has 1 All-Star appearance and 1 Mariano Rivera AL Reliever of the Year award. His career will get back on track and be a long one full of greatness.
Jake Arrieta- P Phillies
Rick Porcello- P Mets- Okay, I did not originally intend to put Porcello on this list, but when you have 2037IP, 1507SO, and 1CY Young, you make my list. All that, and you're only 31 years. He has been around for what feels like forever, and he has been a pro since 2009. Porcello has never pitched less than 170.1IP in a season. But the only thing that holds me back on Porcello is a career 4.36ERA. That is what puts him on this side of my list.

Most Exciting Pitchers
Mike Soroka- P Braves- Coming off his first full season of MLB action at age 22 now. He posted 200IP to the tune of 2.79ERA and  163SO. Was named an All-Star and top 2nd team all MLB. Those are fantastic honors to get within this division with the group of pitchers we have in the NL. As Soroka matures, gets better and gains more MLB experience I fully see Soroka being the ACE of the Braves for many years.
Noah Syndergaard- P Mets- 27Yo and already having a great career. He is so young; we have so many more years of just great to come from Thor that the 716IP, 775SO, and the 3.31ERA are just the start of what we have yet to see.
Marcus Stroman- P Mets- Its the same story as Thor, so young at 28YO, going into his prime. He is a real competitor and has 849IP, 695SO, a career 3.76ERA, 1 All-Star, and 1 Gold Glove. Stroman is the same boat as Thor where the best is yet to come.
Aaron Nola- P Phillies

HOF Pitchers
Cole Hamels- P Braves- What a career it has been for this man. 2694IP, 2558SO, 163-121 record with a 3.42ERA. 1x WS MVP, 1xWS Champ, 4x All-Star. Consistency, stability and just greatness for many years as we have seen.
Felix Hernandez - P Braves- Lifetime Mariner King Felix, got signed to a Minor Leauge Deal with the Braves to show what he as left at age 34 hopefully. When I am writing this, it's April 8th, and today is his birthday. Happy Birthday King Felix! Felix is a 1x CY Young winner, 6x All-Star, 2xERA Title. 2729IP, 169-136 record, 2487SO, one perfect game, career 3.42ERA. Just an impressive career to date, one of my all-time favorite players and only hope to see Felix in Cooperstown someday.
Jacob deGrom- P Mets-up to this point in his career, he has been dominant. 1101IP, 1255SO, 2.62ERA, 66-49 record. 2x CY Young, NL Rookie of the year, 3x All-Star, All-MLB First Team, deGrom is in the mix for the HOF at 31. He, for sure, has a few more good years ahead of him. I don't think he can get another 900IP to get to 2kIP and 2kSO, but deGrom is so good and still at a good age, but when his career is over. We will have seen a career of dominance.
Max Scherzer- Nationals- At 35, Scherzer has one heck of a career to date. 2290IP, 2692SO, 170-89record, and a 3.20ERA to go with it. Never less 170IP in his 2nd year, but after that and since he has been a rock of consistency and greatness. With 3 CY Young awards, 1WS champ, 7x All-Star, leading the league in SO 3 times. Scherzer, without a doubt, will be in the HOF
Stephen Strasburg- P Nationals- 1438.2IP, 1695SO 112-58 record, and a 3.17ERA Strasburg has had quite a career. Add in a WS MVP, 1 WS Ring, 3x All-Star, 1 NL Silver Slugger. He has only ever pitched in a Nats uni and only ever will.  He's dealt with injuries or would have more IP. The best is yet to come for the 31yo. Also, he was a number 1 pick for the Nationals in 2009, debuted in 2010, and has been there for the team up to their WS Championship. He will end up in HOF I think when his career is over. In 7 years after his new contract is up with the Nationals.
