In My Opinion: Best in the NL West

Note This is 100% opinion based on who I see as the best players in the NL West and who I can see having a legit shot at the HOF. The kind of explain how I get these categories for Honorable Mentions I feel like they aren't the most exciting player, but one who should be paid attention to at this point in their career where they are now and where I think they are going Most Exciting players are the guys you have to watch that are just electric and going to be around for a while and making noise. HOF candidates are guys who I can see when their careers are over are likely to be considered for the HOF Honorable Mentions Hitters Gavin Lux- 2B Dodgers- At age 22, he is one of the long term building blocks for Dodgers. Lux didn't do a ton last season, but the Dodgers like him, and I see a long future for his kid. After many MiLB awards for him. Get to know his name now Dodgers. Charlie Blackmon- OF Rockies- One of the most consistent players since 2011, in my opinion. In his

In My Opinion: Best in the NL East

HOF candidates are guys who I can see when their careers are over are likely to be considered for the HOF Honorable Mentions Hitters Brian Anderson- OF Marlines- This guy is freaking talented and is only 26 but is on the Marlins and the versatile Anderson who can play 3B and the OF and hit for some power and a decent average. He has a bunch of MiLB awards to show so far as well. He has his best years ahead of him and has possibly 7-10 more years in his MLB career. I see an outstandin

IN MY OPINION: Best in the AL East

Note: This is 100% opinion based on who I see as the best players in the AL Central and who I can see having a legit shot at the HOF. The kind of explain how I get these categories for Honorable Mentions I feel like they aren't the most exciting player, but one who should be paid attention to at this point in their career where they are now and where I think they are going Most Exciting players are the guys you have to watch that are just electric and going to be around for a while and making noise. HOF candidates are guys who I can see when their careers are over are likely to be considered for the HOF. Honorable Mentions Aaron Judge- OF Yankees- Judge has had too many injuries already in his young career up to this point for me to put him into the mix for these conversations. But if he can stay healthy and have a long career in NY, which I think he can. Then I can see him 100% being in for a massive deal and will lead to HOF talks. He is only 27 and power can age well in t

In My Opinion: Best in the NL Central

This is 100% opinion based on who I see as the best players in the NL East and who I can see having a legit shot at the HOF. HOF candidates are guys who I can see when their careers are over are likely to be considered for the HOF Honorable Mentions Hitters Andrew McCutchen- OF Phillies- He has been one of those that don't own any one category. But has been one of those guys that makes it and has a long time career. That's exactly what McCutchen has done in his career since 2009. Winning 1 MVP, 5x All-Star, 4 Silver Sluggers, 1 Gold Glove/ Honestly McCutchen given his consistency of a 286BA and a 378BA.

IN MY OPINION- Best In the AL Central

Note: This is 100% opinion based on who I see as the best players in the AL Central and who I can see having a legit shot at the HOF. HOF candidates are guys who I can see when their careers are over are likely to be considered for the HOF. Honorable Mentions: Jose Ramirez- 3B Indians- He is only of those guys that's a solid contributor all around. I don't see him as exciting as he has come to a role where he is a solid 20HR/20SB and solid defensive kind of player. He is only 27 and has 2 All-Star appearances, 2 Silver Sluggers and is just going into his prime. I feel his time is now for the next 4/5 yea

IMO: 2020 Season News UPDATE

Hey Ball Boy Blog Fans! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the content. I have a lot of great content to come in the next couple weeks: Including my take on current players who deserve to get into the HOF or maybe fall just short. The next is my take on PEDs and Steroids in the HOF. Really excited about these pieces.  Some recent news as of today 5/11/2020, happy belated Mothers day to all the Mothers and Single Dads and Grandparents and other relatives who fill in as Moms.  Okay first update: It is looking more and more like that we will have an 80 game season starting around July first. With a quick spring training pt two starting in June. Then we would also see an expanded playoff. The divisions would also look something like: NL/AL West would be the West- 10 teams, NL/AL Central- 10 teams, and NL/AL East- 10 teams. Which would keep players closer to home, and be able to keep them close to their loved ones! Then going with 7 teams from each division going to the playoffs

West Update: Seattle Mariners

Overall This is going to be hard to stay impartial in this post because I love the Mariners. But still, I got this and will to the best I can. Health is a major factor for Seattle. Getting Haniger, Austin Adams healthy. Keeping Kyle Lewis healthy and making sure they get healthy seasons from all their most promising talent. Another major factor for the M's is getting playing time for the likes of Shed Long, J.P. Crawford, Evan White, Lewis, Fraley, Sheffield, Dunn, Kikuchi. These guys will need to eat up as much playing time as they can in the 2020 season. Its sink or swim for these guys and I fully expect them to get all the help they need to swim. The Mainers have come out and said this year is for the development of the guys I mentioned in this piece and those I haven't to get all the time they can do get better. They want this group of talent to succeed and I do see it happening. They have an open checkbook coming in the next couple years and their payroll is among the l

NL Update: San Diego Padres

Overall It is only a matter of time before Fernando Tatis Jr. gets a deal like Acuna got from the Braves. That is if the Padres actually want to spend money in the right spot. Speaking of talent the Padres have they have plenty on the way in top-notch pitching prospects MacKenzie Gore, Luis Patino who could both reach the MLB level in 2020. CF Taylor Trammell is not looking at being in AAA and really having to push the Padres hand to be at the MLB level. Others include P Michel Baez, P Adrian Morejon- both top 100prospects, P Ronald Bolanos, P David Bednar both of who had some time with the Padres in 2019. Jake Cronenworth is worth mentioning because he could somehow end up as a two-way player.  Needless to say however 2020 looks depth in the pitching department is going to be key and the Padres have plenty of it. With the rise of prospects the Padres and their depth. It's really a tough race between the Padres and the D-backs for 2nd in the division. Shoutout: If you need to m

AL West Update: LA Angels

Overall: The Angels have the best player in baseball in Mike Trout and they have wasted, yes wasted a few years of his amazing career but not giving him the talent he's needed. Finally, at 28Yo and after signing a 12year mega-contract a year ago. The deal will run through until he is 40 basically. He will be one of those guys that will be good until then. It's hard to see him not. But, he finally has another start in Anthony Rendon to bat behind him and the Angels are coming up in the west and looking to really compete as Trout just gets into his prime years, their window starts now and looks to be opening for the next 5 years. As we all think Trout by the time he ends his career to be in the mix for GOAT and towards the top of every hitting category.
