AL Central Update: Cleveland Indians

Hitting:
The Indians and Lindor have paused all extension talks as of March 9th. But they could pick up well since they don't have anything better to do and they can figure all this out.
Jose Ramirez is coming off a down year after 17/18 being MVP kind of years. With the kind of year, he had to end the season. I don't see any reason we won't see MVP version of him return for the 2020 season we do get.
Franmil Reyes is another guy the Indians want to see a bounce-back for them.  The young slugger and when I say young he is 24. He swatted 37HR but he dropped in OBP and his overall line wasn't one to love. Overall, if he can get his avg up from 249 and maybe into the 280 and not have his OBP drop again. We should get another good productive year from the slugger.
Oscar Mercade did supper a sprained wrist in ST before it came to an abrupt end. We should see him come out fine from all this.

Pitching:
When the Indians got Emmanuel Clase they were getting a legit guy with triple-digit heat. But he did suffer a set back at the end of Feb that put him out 8-12 weeks with a Teres Major strain. This put him out for all of March, April and May, which may allow him to still start the season on the Active Roster.
Carlos Carrasco has been recovering from a hip flexor strain and has been dealing with right elbow inflammation, but with the extra time in the season, we should see him healthy for opening day. The rotation is already a little weaker because of Mike Clevinger recovering from a partial meniscus tear.
Most likely if Carrasco is a no go we should see the rotation look like this: Shane Beiber, Aaron Civale, Zach Plesac, Adam Plutko, and Logan Allen. But Triston McKenzie and Scott Moss could all be in the mix for permanent spots this season.
But we have a little more clarity now with the Indians optioning- Logan Allen and Scott Moss to AAA, which leaves Shane Beiber, Aaron Civale, Zach Plesac, Adam Plutko, and Triston McKenzie. This should be the assumed rotation while Carrasco and Clevinger on the shelf, but likely to return to the mix for the rotation by the time the season opens. The rotation should have Beiber, Clevinger, Carrasco, and some mix of Civale, Plesac, Plutko, and McKenzie for the 4th/5th spot.

Overall:
I like the Indians, I think this division is a 3 team race between the Chi Sox/Indians/ Twins. The Indians like to hang out and keep pace with their team. Which is very solid, top to bottom and they will win a lot of games and continue to be competitive.
