AL East Update- Boston Redsox

Pitching:
Bounce back needed for the flamethrowing Nathan Eovaldi he is 30 and coming off elbow problems so maybe moving him to hard-throwing this year is realistic. They need him to stabilize the rotation with Chris Sale dealing with his own injuries and David Price gone as well.
This rotation also seems to be a blur at this point but with plenty of time for things to come into focus- Darwinzon Hernandez could become a full-time starter again, he's been in kind of a mixed role of starting and bullpen. They are also taking a close look at Ryan Weber a 5 pitch guy with a good cutter. Collin McHugh was signed to MLB deal but is coming off a nonsurgical procedure this winter- he is also kind of one of those guys that is a great reliever but can do some starts here and there. So we will see how his recovery goes and the role he plays.
Chris Sale- ICYMI Sale has a flexor strain but does not expect to need Tj surgery so that's great. But it's still up in the air and Sale has 5 more expensive years in Boston and they want to make sure long term plan is in place. So his situation is still so unsure at this point, we just gotta wait and see.  But with the extra time, he may not miss time and be fine for the season we do get. He did start a throwing program however which is great news.
BREAKING: Chris Sale will have TJ and miss 2020 this is huge news and what I was thinking was going to happen because they want their ace to be healthy long term and they know they aren't playing for much this year.
Hitters:
A bounce-back hitter the Redsox really really need to rebound to 2018 is Andrew Benintendi, he kinda fell off last season. Was still valuable, but they need 2018 him so help fill the gap left by Mookie Betts
The Redsox did renew Rafael Devers for 2020- they have yet to engage in extension talks which we should see as he is a core piece in Boston.
The Redsox need a lot from their lineup after the Betts trade. I cant wait to see who steps up and fills the role. I hope Alex Verdugo takes the leap and becomes the next hottest thing in Boston I really do.

Other news:
I personally didn't realize this but more and more catchers are catching from a newer stance to help umps make better calls. This is receiving from a knee and not the traditional stance. This does make it harder for C to block the passed balls but up the strikes called its a good trade-off.

Overall
Overall I see Boston heading to a rebuild, with the city in sports turmoil in the last 36 days after Betts and now Brady are gone. Boston fans need something to believe in. But I really think this team is going to keep selling all they can to get high-end prospects as we saw already. They have great MLB talent to get good returns so we will see how it shakes out.
