Pitching
Former 5th overall pick in 2012 Kyle Zimmer was given another minor-league option by the league which is really uncommon, but common in a case like Zimmer, He has had so many injuries that it's really limited him in-game action.  But he was healthy last year made 15 relief appearances and... had a 10.8 ERA over 18 1/3IP. Now since he got optioned to AAA its worked out well for both sides and hopefully, his long journey can have a happy ending.
Mike Mongomery has had an interesting career but looks to finally have club support to be an SP and not swingman or RP or get a save in game 7 of the WS.
Ashe Russell did have TJ surgery last year, took a mental break from baseball and the 23yo was in camp with the team and we know the surgery was before last June so maybe he is on track to be involved at the MLB level early in the 2020 season we do get.
Bradley Singer, has yet to pitch above AAA is showing he can handle a 5th starter spot for the Royals and looked good in his 5 2/3IP in spring ball having 6SO. If he doesn't get the spot Jorge Lopez should get the role
The Royals did option LHP Gabe Speier,  he did struggle in 2019 after his debut. He should be a good option in the pen in 2020 once another guy doesn't work out.

Hitting
The man Salvador Perez looks to be fully healthy after TJ last year. He looks to be back to himself this spring and that's great news for both the 29yo Catcher and the Royals who are fully into rebuild mode and Perez with his career to this point, and the market for catchers he will likely be able to be moved to a contender where his talent will not go waste.
Another guy the Royals need healthy to win games and go forward is 24Yo SS Adalberto Mondesi. This guy is a key piece in the Royals rebuild so getting him healthy for the season is important to the team after shoulder surgery. This guy is SB machine, notching 43 last season. He still didn't make his spring debut before the suspension. But with the extra time and him staying on pace in his rehab expect him to be good to go for the season.
The Royals are taking a shot on Maikel Franco this year after a terrible 2019 where he hit to a 234BA, the Royals are looking to see if they have a good piece for a rebuild or not. He is only 27 and if he can bounce back for the team then awesome, if not his contract was 3mil and they have plenty of young guys to take over 3B
Another guy the Royals need to show up during this rebuild is Ryan O;Hearn this is because he had 195BA in 370PA last season. Hopefully, be can rebound into at least an average player at 1B and the 26yo can give the Royals confidence in him at 1B. If he can't show up then their "soft" platoon of him and Ryan McBroom both are coming off really hard to evaluate 2019 tho McBroom does hold a better track record at AAA with the Yankees where he hit 26HR and a 315BA before his 86PA stint with the Royals.
The Royals did option Kelvin Gutierrez to AAA which makes sense and we should see him in 2020 if anything happens to Franco.

Overall
I don't even know what to say about this team. They have some talent that's for sure. They have what seems a good plan in place to get the guys they want the playing time and do give them the chance to succeed at the MLB level. This team is for sure still the worst team in the division, sorry to say Royals fans, but the future is bright we hope. They do have an older bullpen, with experience. So as we see them traded this season, you will see young guys like Speier come into roles in the pen. don't be surprised to see almost all top 10 prospects at the MLB level in 2020 Good things are coming for the Royals in the future expect to start to know some of these guys names and them be relevant in 2021 and beyond.
